Georgia Women's Basketball Coach Praises Football Team's Seniors

Georgia women’s basketball coach Joni Taylor is very complimentary of the Georgia football seniors who returned for one more year at UGA.

Women’s basketball coach Joni Taylor has been with Georgia since 2011 – when she was an assistant coach – meaning she has witnessed the end of an era and the start of a new one for the Georgia football program.

In the midst of transition and uncertain times, leaders emerge. For Georgia players Nick Chubb, Sony Michel, Lorenzo Carter, Davin Bellamy and Dominick Sanders, coming off an 8-5 season with a new head coach, they decided to step up and come together to achieve a common goal. All returned for their senior years.

That impressed Taylor, who mentioned the importance of upholding a commitment and putting the team before yourself.

The women’s basketball team is currently 12-2, with their only losses coming to top-ten opponents Mississippi State and Texas.
