Report: Georgia Set To Hire Vanderbilt Assistant Coach


According to a report from Seth Emerson of Dawgnation, Georgia is set to hire Vanderbilt wide receivers coach Cortez Hankton, which will finalize a Kirby Smart coaching staff that saw a lot of turnover in the past few weeks.

Hankton has spent the past three seasons coaching in Nashville. Prior to coming to Vanderbilt, Hankton coached the wide receivers at Dartmouth following a six year NFL career as a wide receiver himself.

At this time it is unclear what Hankton’s role will be in Athens. Georgia is already set at wide receivers coach with James Coley, who turned down the Texas A&M offensive coordinator position to remain at Georgia.
