The first time Georgia and Auburn met, UGA was flagged 7 times for 75 yards while Auburn was penalized 5 times for 29 yards. Kirby Smart may have had an issue with how the SEC refs officiated the game.

While commentating during the Iron Bowl last weekend, CBS host Gary Danielson mentioned that Smart let TV announcers know that he submitted 6 plays to the SEC regarding a lack of holding calls on passing plays by Auburn.

“He felt that Auburn got away with a lot of holds in the secondary against his receivers,” Danielson said on the air. “He sent in six plays to the SEC. He was not happy about what had happen in that game.”

“Yeah, no comment,” Smart said, when asked if he actually did submit those plays to the SEC.

According to a conference spokesman, the officiating crew for Saturday’s SEC Championship Game will be announced shortly before kickoff.
