North Gwinnett High (Suwanee, GA) long-snapper Payne Walker announced via his Twitter account this week that he has committed to Georgia as a preferred walk-on. Walker is ranked as the nation’s No. 9 long snapper by Kohl’s Kicking.

Kohl’s analysis of Walker follows:

Walker attended the Spring Southern Showcase and continued to show off his talents. He is a large, physical athlete who is also very explosive in his snapping motion. He snaps a clean ball that has great Velocity. Over the last 3 ranking camps, Walker has had an average snap time of .68 seconds. He has also shown he has phenomenal athleticism for his size. Walker has the talent and abilities to benefit any program in the country.

Payne is 6′ 2″, 240 pounds and also plays defensive end.

Georgia currently has four snappers on the roster, however, only sophomore Hudson Reynolds will return in 2018.

The Dawgs currently have the nation’s No. 4 ranked class in the country.
