Georgia running backs coach Dell McGee has proven to be an elite recruiter during his two years in Athens.

The former Carver-Columbus (Georgia) head coach has been the primary recruiter for current Georgia five-star signees Justin Fields, Brenton Cox and Zamir White and four-star signees Chris Smith and James Cook.McGee leads the 247Sports Recruiter Rankings, followed closely by Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano and Alabama’s Derrick Ansley.Past winners of the title include Georgia assistant Bryan McClendon in 2014 and former UGA defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt while he was with Florida State in 2013.

Prior to joining Georgia, McGee was running backs coach at Georgia Southern. The Auburn grad built Columbus-Carver into a powerhouse, winning a state title and Georgia State Coach of the Year awards in 2007 and 2008.

Georgia currently has the nation’s No. 1-rated recruiting class. So far during the early signing period, Georgia has signed an unprecedented six 5-star recruits. The early signing period ends on Friday and the Dawgs still have a chance to add to their riches. Five hard commits have yet to sign and Kirby Smart and his staff may have an additional surprise.
