5-Star Offensive Tackle Commits To Georgia

Add one more 5-star to the already loaded 2018 Georgia recruiting class.

5-star offensive tackle Cade Mays, out of Knoxville, Tennessee, has committed to the University of Georgia in a ceremony at Knoxville Catholic School.

“I just fell in love with Athens when I went there,” Mays said on ESPNU following his commitment. “Coach Smart has got the program going in the right way, right direction. Great relationship with Coach Pittman. All the coaching staff, they really treat me like family and this is where I want to call home for the next four years.”

The 6-6, 318 pound lineman ranks as the nation’s 16th overall player, second ranked offensive tackle and best player in the state of Tennessee.

Mays chose the Dawgs over Clemson and Tennessee. The Knoxville native decommitted from the Volunteers last month and reopened his recruitment.

Mays joins 5-star Jamaree Salyer, the nation’s top ranked offensive guard, and 4-star Trey Hill, second ranked offensive guard, as some of Georgia’s most impressive commitments on the offensive line.

Mays is Georgia’s fifth 5-star prospect for the class of 2018, joining Justin Fields, Zamir White, Adam Anderson and Jamaree Salyer.
