Shortly after picking up a commitment from 5-star offensive tackle Cade Mays, Georgia received more good news in the form of another 5-star.

Brenton Cox, a 5-star defensive end out of Stockbridge, Georgia, has committed to The University of Georgia during a ceremony at Stockbridge High School.

After an official visit to Athens over the weekend weekend, the 6-5, 250 pounder had been trending for the Bulldogs. Cox, who de-committed from Ohio State 2 weeks ago, chose Georgia over the Buckeyes and Alabama.

During his junior and senior season at Stockbridge, Cox collected 117 tackles, 17.5 tackles for a loss and 23 quarterback sacks.

The 6-foot-5, 247-pounds athlete is the nation’s 22nd overall prospect, the state’s No.5 prospect and is ranked as the nation’s No. 2 strong-side defensive end.

Cox joins Justin Fields, Zamir White, Jamaree Salyer, Cade Mays and Adam Anderson’s as the six 5-star players in this class.
