On Wednesday morning, Georgia officially added a kicker its 2018 recruiting class.
Jake Camarda, rated as a 3-star kicker, committed to Georgia in April and has now made things official with the Dawgs.
Rated as the nation’s top kicker/punter, Camarda looks to continue in the long line of great Georgia special teamers.
Kohls Kicking, which is one of the nation’s leading scouting services, focusing on kickers, punters and snappers, had this to say about Camarda’s ability:
“Camarda had a dominant performance at the 2017 Underclassman Challenge. He is impressive in his refinement and his ability. He can directional punt with power and has great confidence in his punting mechanics. One of the most impressive punters we have seen at the high school level. He is ready to start at a Power 5 school right now.
“He has Division 1 ability in his field goals and kickoffs as well, [and] cleaning up contact will help him maximize his leg speed and power. His leg is flat out superior to most kids in his class. Camarda attended the 2016 NSC in Wisconsin. Once again Jake showed why he is the No. 1 punter in the nation for the 2018 class with an average of 55-plus yards from the charting portions of camp.
“His leg speed up and through the football is unmatched in his class.
