Mark Richt Sends Thoughtful Message To UGA Fan Fighting Cancer

Rob Estes was a big Georgia fan who unfortunately passed away on December 17th from a form of brain cancer called glioblastoma.

During Estes’ final days, former Georgia head coach Mark Richt, who is now with the Miami Hurricanes, sent him this heartfelt message.

Estes founded a Christian-based organization, “Can’t Never Could,” shortly after being diagnosed wit brain cancer.

From the organization’s website:

Can’t Never Could, Inc. is a non-profit corporation dedicated to helping individuals and groups who are facing adversity and personal battles. Through monetary donations, support, and faith in Jesus Christ, Can’t Never Could wishes to instill determination and hope to those who are experiencing these challenges. Can’t Never Could makes these contributions with the desire to glorify Christ who provides strength in all circumstances.

In August 2013, Rob Estes was diagnosed with an incurable form of brain cancer. After the removal of a 5 centimeter tumor in his right frontal lobe, he is now valiantly fighting this aggressive disease. As a result of this experience, our family has realized the importance of faith, community, perseverance, and hope. We also realize the importance of helping others in their times of adversity. For this reason we have created Can’t Never Could.

The name Can’t Never Could comes from a saying that Rob often heard from his mother as he was growing up. Whenever Rob complained “I can’t do it!” his mother would quickly reply, “Can’t Never Could!”. If you don’t try, you’ll never succeed. This phrase, along with Philippians 4:13, which he was taught on his high school football team, have become Rob’s mantra and life verse.
