Vegas Sets Odds For Georgia - Alabama National Championship Game

Nick Saban had barely shaken hands with Dabo Swinney before Las Vegas oddsmakers set the early line for the College Football Playoff national championship game.

After No. 3 Georgia (13-1) beat No. 2 Oklahoma 54-48 in the Rose Bowl and the Crimson Tide’s 24-6 victory over No. 1 Clemson in the Sugar Bowl, 5Dimes set an early line with the Tide as a 5.5 point favorite.

Sony Michel’s 25-yard touchdown run in the second overtime, his fourth score of the game, led the Bulldogs to their first national championship game.

The SEC champions became only the third team in Rose Bowl history to rally from a double-digit halftime deficit. Jake Fromm threw two touchdown passes and became the first true freshman quarterback to win a Rose Bowl.

In a game where every yard was hard earned, Alabama (12-1) defenders took matters into their own hands, scoring a pair of touchdowns just 13 seconds apart in the third quarter to turn a defensive battle into a rout of defending national champion Clemson.

The College Football Playoff national championship is scheduled for Monday night, January 8 in Atlanta’s Mercedes Benz Stadium.
