Alabama Fans Not Buying Tickets Like Years Past, Prices Drop For National Championship Game

It seems Alabama fans are not turning out nearly as much as in years past to watch their team play in the national championship.

Our friends at TicketIQ.com let me know that they are seeing four times the visits to their site from users located in Georgia vs. those in Alabama.

Overnight, quantity of national championship tickets on TicketIQ climbed from 2,800 to 3,800 tickets.

On Wednesday, the 2018 championship was on pace to become the most expensive ever, now the get-in price has fallen below $1,700, which is below last year’s final get-in price as well as the Auburn vs. Oregon title game of 2010-11.

TicketIQ’s partners at Priceline.com are seeing similar numbers, with an 80% jump in Atlanta hotel searches in the state of Georgia vs. only a 20% jump from the state of Alabama.
