Jake Fromm And Aaron Murray's First Year Stats Awfully Similar

Quarterbacks Aaron Murray and Jake Fromm both came to Georgia as 5-star recruits. Murray out of Tampa, Florida in 2009. Fromm out of Warner Robins, Georgia in 2017.

Murray sat out his first year and was the starter for Georgia’s 2010 season, his redshirt freshman year. Georgia would go 6-7 that year, but it was evident that Murray had what it takes to be a legit threat for years to come.

Fromm was thrown into the fire of week 1 during his true freshman season, leading Georgia to a 13-2 season and a shot at the national title. Like Murray, Fromm proved that he was the real deal.

Though the teams’ records were not similar in Murray and Fromm’s first seasons, the two put up extremely close stats that left Georgia fans excited for the future of the program.

Their freshman year stats can be found below.

Murray attempted 342 passes to Fromm’s 291.

If Fromm can continue to progress in the same way that Murray, the SEC’s all-time leading passer, did, than Kirby Smart’s job will become that much easier.
