Even though he led the nation in one impressive category, Georgia wide receiver Terry Godwin announced this week that he will be returning for his senior season.
It’s never easy for a student athlete to put his NFL dreams on hold for a year and return for a senior season, like Georgia wide receiver Terry Godwin will be doing.
Godwin’s decision to return is an admirable one, especially when considering this following stat:
According to a tweet from Pro Football Focus, Godwin had the highest wide receiver rating of any draft eligible receiver at 146.8.
According to PFF, a” WR Rating = passer rating when targeted; minimum of 40 targets”
Godwin came to UGA as a 5-star prospect out of Hogansville, Georgia in 2015. Since Godwin’s arrival in Athens, he has caught 111 passes for 1,415 yards and 8 touchdowns. In 2017 alone, he reeled in 38 catches for 639 yards and 6 touchdowns.
Godwin posted to his Instagram this week, announcing his return:
“I would like to thank The University Georgia for everything they’ve provided me with these past 3 years and the chance of the NFL but after a discuss with me and my family and my coaches I’ve decided to return for my senior year but 2017 was special and so will 2018…. Go Dawgs🐶🐾”
