Former UGA Center David Andrews and standout linebacker Dannell Ellerbe will both be playing in Super Bowl 52. Additionally, wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell will have an opportunity to win another ring, but he is on IR, so he won’t be playing in the Super Bowl.
Andrews played well Sunday, limiting the Jaguars’ ferocious pass rush and helping the Patriots come back from a 20-10 deficit. Contrarily, Ellerbe was inactive with a hamstring injury in the NFC Championship Game. Ellerbe was questionable for the game, so he’ll benefit from having an extra week to prepare for the Super Bowl.
This will mark the second straight year a former Bulldog will become a Super Bowl Champion. Last season both Mitchell and Andrews won the Super Bowl in a Patriots comeback victory over the Falcons.
