Georgia Assistant Headed To Oklahoma

Georgia tight ends coach and special team coordinator Shane Beamer is leaving for Oklahoma, according to Chris Low of ESPN.

Georgia assistant Shane Beamer is the most recent in a growing list of UGA coaches to leave Athens for a new coaching opportunity. Beamer is reportedly headed to Oklahoma and will become assistant head coach for the Sooners’ offense

The Dawgs not only have to replace a lot of firepower on the gridiron, but a number of coaches on the sidelines as well.  Kirby Smart has built quite the staff at Georgia, but he will have to reload this offseason.

Beamer came to Georgia from Virginia Tech, where he was the assistant head coach and running backs coach.

Beamer leaves Georgia after a successful season and looks to get a big raise at Oklahoma.  Along with Beamer, Georgia’s assistant strength and conditioning coach Aaron Feld left the Dawgs last week for Oregon.  Feld also received a promotion.
