Update On Georgia Linebacker Natrez Patrick

Following multiple legal issues and an admittance into an inpatient treatment facility, Georgia linebacker Natrez Patrick’s status with the team has been unclear for roughly one month now.

Patrick missed the team’s trip to the Rose Bowl and though he was on the sideline for the national championship, he did not suit up.

However, according to a report from Seth Emerson of DawgNation, Patrick is currently enrolled in classes and is part of the team.

Patrick’s lawyer Billy Healen relayed to Emerson via text:

“Natrez is doing very well in his treatment. He is enrolled in classes this semester. He is still on the football team and is looking forward to the upcoming season.”

Patrick is a starter when he is active and healthy, and will be a key returning piece to Georgia’s 2018 defense, assuming he continues to remain with the team. How much playing times or any suspensions he receives will be handed out by Kirby Smart, and at this time is uncertain.

“As for playing time, that is obviously up to the coaches,” Healen told Emerson. “They don’t usually consult a player’s lawyer on that issue.”

Thank you to Seth Emerson for the report.
