Last month it was reported that Georgia quarterback Jacob Eason would be transferring back to his home-state and playing for the University of Washington.
On Tuesday, one day ahead of National Signing Day, it became official as Washington posted a video to its social media accounts with the caption, “Now the moment everyones been waiting for… Welcome Home @skinnyqb10 (Jacob Eason). #HomeGrown #PurpleReign”
Eason retweeted the video and posted “Good to be home,” on his account.
Eason will sit out the 2018 season, thanks to the NCAA’s transfer policy.
For Eason, this move makes perfect sense. He has all the capabilities of being an NFL quarterback. Plus, after a pretty good freshman season he can only improve, and I’m sure he did over last offseason but we never had the chance to see it during the 2017 season.
During his freshman year, Eason threw 16 touchdowns to 8 interceptions. He had 2,430 passing yards as well.
We wish Eason the best.
