Ok, this is the most Tennessee thing we’ve seen since the football program’s laughable coaching search.
New coach, same Vols.
In a head-scratching recruiting/marketing technique, Tennessee released a graphic to its social media pages that promotes the team’s new coaches by boasting NFL players who were coached by members of the Vols new staff.
The only problem is…the players featured on the graphic – sans Demarcus Ware – all played at SEC schools not named Tennessee.
Tennessee highlighted former Georgia outside linebacker Leonard Floyd, now a star with the Chicago Bears, who was coached by both Jeremy Pruitt (former Georgia DC) and Tracy Rocker (former Georgia DL coach).
In addition to Floyd, the graphic shows former Alabama defensive back Ha Ha Clinton Dix, LSU great Tyrann Mathieu, former Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley and Troy legend Demarcus Ware.
We understand what the Vols are attempting to accomplish here, but….really?
The tweet received some negative backlash, as expected.
