Sony Michel Poised For Breakout Rookie Season With New NFL Team

Sony Michel, who was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft by the Patriots, will look to join recent NFL rookie RBs who have made an instant impact. Michel will have the opportunity to join the likes of Zeke, Kamara, Fournette, and others when he plays for the Patriots. Michel will be paired with former teammates Malcolm Mitchell, David Andrews and fellow first-rounder Isaiah Wynn – former UGA guard.

Michel should have a lot of success in the NFL, both as a runner and receiver. He wasn’t utilized much as a receiver in his last season at UGA, but showed flashes of potential as a sophomore when he recorded 270 receiving yards and 3 receiving TDs. Because of his receiving skills, expect Michel to be on the field for a lot of key 3rd downs for the Pats. Having hall of famer Tom Brady passing to Michel does not hurt either.

Michel will build off of his most successful season at Georgia, where he came up clutch in the playoff. Including his Bulldog career defining moment: an OT game winning touchdown from the wild dawg formation vs. the Oklahoma Sooners in the CFB Playoff Semifinals. Michel also was UGA’s best RB in the National Championship where he recorded 98 yards on just 14 carries. It’s clear that Michel is at his best when he is against the best. That’s the ultimate reason why Michel will be successful in the NFL.
