Georgia Offers Highly Ranked 6-Foot-9 Wide Receiver

Georgia extends scholarship offer to 6-foot-9 4-star wide receiver

4-star wide receiver Darren Jones, out of Pomona, California, currently holds 7 scholarship offers, including ones from Florida, Oregon and Texas A&M.

On Monday, Georgia became the latest school to offer the 2019 pass catcher.

“Blessed to have received an offer from the University of Georgia,” tweeted Jones.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention, Jones is tall…like, really tall.

Standing at 6-foot-9, Jones ranks as the nation’s 180th overall prospect in his class and 27th ranked wide receiver.

Jones currently attends Diamond Branch High School in Pomona, Ca., his third school in as many years. Jones played on varsity for Upland High during his freshman year, however, he transferred to Cajon High for his sophomore season but was ruled ineligible thanks to the transfer. Jones’ breakout season came in 2017 during his junior year at Diamond Branch, where he caught 102 passes for 2,044 yards and 28 touchdowns, leading all California preps in yardage and ranking second nationally.

We will continue to keep you updated on the recruitment of Jones.
