The transfer season is in full effect for Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs, as a number of players have recently announced their intentions to transfer from Georgia and take their talents elsewhere. However, most of these transfers are due to a limit in playing time on the roster.
Monday, walk on wide receiver Caleeb Roberson announced that he would be leaving the program to continue his football career at another school. Roberson came to Athens in 2016 out of Burke County HS in Waynesboro, GA.
Kirby Smart and staff landed the 3rd best signing class in 2017 and the top class in 2018. While this news is good for fans and coaches, it can sometimes be bad for current players. As such, several players on the Bulldogs’ roster have felt it is probably in their best interest to transfer elsewhere.
Roberson’s UGA teammates reacted to the news on Twitter afterward.
