Falcons Release Former UGA Safety

Former Georgia safety Quincy Mauger has been released by the Atlanta Falcons, the team announced.

Mauger, who played his high school ball at Carlton J. Kell High School in Marietta, Georgia, was a standout at UGA for four seasons, recording 186 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 7 interceptions and 12 pass breakups in 50 games.

Mauger was signed as undrafted free agent in 2017 but unfortunately injured his knee before the start of the season and was placed on injured reserve.

The 23 year old safety did have a decent preseason showing, however, playing in four preseason games with Atlanta and recording one interception off of former Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Josh Dobbs.
