Kirby Smart Makes Encouraging Announcement On Running Back James Cook

According to James Cook’s social media page, the Miami-Northwestern running back has arrived in Athens.  Cook, a native of Miami, FL took down his original social media post, which showed a picture of his new locker.  However, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart confirmed on Monday that Cook is indeed present in the Classic City.

“I think a lot of people know,” Smart said when asked about Cook at the Arians Family Foundation Celebrity golf tournament on Lake Oconee on Monday.

“If you watch social media, you know.”

Cook, the brother of former Florida State star running back Dalvin Cook, made quite the decision when he picked the Bulldogs over his brother’s Seminoles.  The addition of Cook helped the Bulldogs secure the top ranked recruiting class in the country, as Cook was rated a 5-star prospect and 22nd in the country.

Georgia will lose its top 2 running backs in Nick Chubb and Sony Michel this season, who were the top rushing duo in the school’s history.  This would make the casual football fan assume that Georgia’s offense will take a significant hit, but the rich keep getting richer.  The Bulldogs make up for the loss of their running back duo with 2 incoming 5-star running backs and a handful of other great backs already on the roster.  Zamir White of Scotland County joins Cook to add to an already loaded offense in Athens.
