Kirby Smart Not Concerned With Jake Fromm's Lake Mishaps; Happy He's Not "Playing Fortnite All Day"

Georgia coach Kirby Smart has found a place for himself at SEC Media Days with some comedic remarks.  As expected, the reigning SEC coach of the year had to answer a few questions on sophomore quarterback Jake Fromm’s outdoor accidents this summer – including his most recent July 4th mishap resulting in a broken hand.

Smart, when asked about Fromm, told reporters that he was not upset with his quarterback for getting injured at the lake because “he’s not sitting at home playing Fortnite all day. He’s socializing, he’s going out, he’s doing things.”

Smart also noted that “things like this happen all the time that you don’t know about.”  The 3rd year head coach mentioned how social media has changed the college football landscape and the way we find out about incidents.

Since Fromm broke his non-throwing hand it appears that he will be ready to go for the start of the season.  Smart does not seem to be worried about the injury at all and has confidence that Fromm and his friends are just “kids being kids.”
