Report: Former Georgia Wide Receiver Malcolm Mitchell Might Be On The Move In NFL

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media, Georgia great Malcolm Mitchell has been put on the trading block. The New England Patriots are “seeking a potential trade partner” for a deal involving Mitchell, a 2016 4th-round pick, who missed all of last season with a knee injury. While Mitchell certainly is a valuable asset for the Patriots, who lost star receiver Julian Edelman to suspension, the Valdosta native unfortunately has been labeled as an injury prone player.

Mitchell sustained injuries several times throughout his career with the Bulldogs and Patriots, including a torn ACL in 2013 and a dislocated elbow in 2016. On top of that, Mitchell missed the 2017 season with a knee injury as well that carried over from 2016.

Due to Mitchell’s unfortunate injury-ridden past, his value on the market like will not be as high as New England wishes.  It would be great to see Mitchell, who caught 6 passes for 70 yards in the Super Bowl a few years ago, stay in Foxborough with his fellow Georgia teammates David Andrews, Sony Michel and Isaiah Wynn.
