ESPN College Football Releases "Early Top 10"

As the conference media days come to an end and practice begins, it’s almost that time, folks. The time of year we have come to love is near and you know what that means.  Rankings, rankings, and more rankings.

ESPN College Football released their “Preseason Top 10” for the upcoming season and the Bulldogs are right in the thick of it. Our Dawgs wound up at No. 4 in the rankings, which seems to be about right.  Losing senior running backs Nick Chubb and Sony Michel, along with a loaded defensive side makes for a slight dip in the polls.

Considering Georgia started last season ranked 16th in the country and finished 2nd, we believe Kirby Smart’s team will be just fine.  However, these are just the preseason rankings, which mean essentially nothing.  Soon, we will find out the AP and USA Today Coaches rankings, which serve as our marking point until mid-October when the College Football Playoff rankings come out.

Below is the full top 10 list from ESPN:

  1. Alabama Crimson Tide
  2. Clemson Tigers
  3. Ohio State Buckeyes
  4. Georgia Bulldogs
  5. Washington Huskies
  6. Wisconsin Badgers
  7. Oklahoma Sooners
  8. Penn State Nittany Lions
  9. Miami Hurricanes
  10. Auburn Tigers
