Georgia Receives Good News From Nation’s Top Ranked JUCO Prospect

Georgia strikes again.

Jermaine Johnson, the nation’s number one ranked JUCO prospect in the class of 2019, has committed to the University of Georgia.

Johnson, who played high school ball in Minnesota, is a star defensive end for Independence Community College in Kansas.

The 6-6, 245 pounder will likely step in and have a chance to be a possible starter at outside linebacker in Georgia’s 3-4 defense.

Johnson was in attendance at Georgia’s recent recruiting event dubbed as “the reveal,” where Kirby Smart showed off the program’s new locker room to prospective players. Johnson will have two years of eligibility remaining.

With just 17 commitments now for Georgia in the class of 2019, the Dawgs have surpassed Alabama for the nation’s number one ranked class. Johnson is UGA’s seventh verbal commit since July 15th, continuing the Dawgs’ run of dominance over the summer.
