Kirby Smart Provides Encouraging Update On Zamir White

While meeting with the media on Friday, Georgia coach Kirby Smart provided an encouraging update on freshman running back Zamir White.

White, who came to Athens as a 5-star running back out of Laurinburg, North Carolina, tore his ACL during his senior season of high school football for Scotland High back in November.

His status has remained iffy throughout the offseason, but Smart said on Friday that White is “full go,” and will wear a protective brace on his knee.

White told SECCountry in January that the training staff gave him an expected return date of “hopefully camp.”

“They feel that I am progressing well officially and that things are going really well,” he said in January.

White is recovering at a freakish pace, similar to that of Nick Chubb a couple years back. Even though Smart said White is “full go,” with regaining confidence being a huge part of recovering from such an injury, it would not come as a surprise to see him eased back into the thick of things, especially early in the season.
