Report: NCAA Has Made Its Decision Regarding Wide Receiver Demetris Robertson

Georgia football just received some great news for its 2018 season.

Upon hearing the announcement that Cal wide receiver and former 5-star recruit Demetris Robertson would be transferring to Georgia, most just assumed the Savannah native would sit out for the upcoming season.

However, good news seems to be the theme of the summer for Kirby Smart and the Dawgs. And with that being said, more good news was granted, literally.

Robertson, after announcing his transfer to Athens, filed a waiver with the NCAA requesting immediate eligibility at Georgia. On Friday, that waiver request was granted.

The addition of the Savannah Christian Prep alum instantly makes Georgia’s offense one of the best in the nation. Robertson, who recorded 50 catches for 767 yards and seven touchdowns as a freshman in 2016, has the ability to step in and become quarterback Jake Fromm’s number one guy.

Adding Robertson to a group of receivers that already includes returning stars Terry Godwin and Mecole Hardman almost assures the Dawgs will be in for a big year offensively.

After a stellar freshman year at Cal, Robertson was only able to play in two games in 2017 after a lower body injury sidelined him for the remainder of the season.
