Georgia Strikes Again...Adds Another DL Commit

The nation’s No. 1 recruiting class just became a bit bigger and stronger. Three-star defensive lineman Tymon Mitchell (Franklin Road Academy, Nashville, TN) became the Dawgs’ third Tennessee prep to commit to Georgia.

The 6’3″, 309- pound Mitchell is ranked as the No. 24 defensive tackle in the country and the No. 15 player in the state of Tennessee. He is the third defensive tackle to commit to UGA and is the 19th commit for the 2019 class.

“Being one of the top teams in the country, going to the natty and all that,” Mitchell told DawgNation in why he chose the Bulldogs. “I’ve got great relationships with the coaches, Coach Scott, Coach Smart, I talk to them just about every day. Great education at Georgia. The program speaks for itself. Plus the ability for playing time with them losing about eight linemen in the next two years.”

Mitchell had 74 tackles as a junior, with 11 tackles for a loss and three quarterback sacks. He was offered by academic powerhouses, Stanford, Cal, Vanderbilt and Virginia, among others.
