SEC Analyst Paul Finebaum Predicts His College Football Playoff Teams

With the countdown to the start of the 2018 college football season entering its final week, it’s time to wrap up the preseason predictions.

SEC Network pundit Paul Finebaum chimed in on Monday morning with his College Football Playoff participants. Finebaum joined WJOX 94.5 FM in Birmingham and he predicted two SEC teams will make the playoffs.

“Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and Ohio State. I have Alabama winning it all,” Finebaum stated on the JOX Roundtable Show.

Alabama, the defending national champion, is certainly on most analysts’ radars. Clemson, is gunning for a fourth consecutive trip to the playoffs, Georgia was a whisker from winning the championship last season and Ohio State is the favorite to win the Big 10.

Will the playoff committee take two SEC schools in consecutive years, will the currently suspended Urban Meyer be at the helm of the Buckeyes once the season begins, can Alabama replace replace a slew of starters and navigate a potential quarterback controversy, can Georgia handle the pressure now that expectations are so high and will Clemson gain clarity at quarterback?

As always, there’s a lot of questions when it comes to the season. It should be an exciting year for college football and the season begins this Saturday with a limited schedule. Georgia opens in Athens with Austin Peay, Clemson hosts Furman, Ohio State has Oregon State in Columbus and Alabama plays Louisville, all on September 1.

You can catch The Paul Finebaum Show on WJOX and the SEC Network from 3:00 p.m to 7:00 p.m.
