Georgia Media Reacts To Ohio State Coach Urban Meyer’s Three-Game Suspension

After a mere three weeks of waiting, The Ohio State University finally issued a verdict on the future of head coach Urban Meyer on Wednesday.  The school decided to retain Meyer as the head football coach, but suspend him for the first three games of the season. Media nationwide had bold opinions and conclusions on the matter, which included several media members in the Georgia Bulldogs’ region.

Below, we have compiled a list of reactions from the likes of former defensive end David Pollack, former quarterback D.J. Shockley and several reporters who cover the Bulldogs. Most of the reactions seemed to be negative towards Meyer, who many believe should have been fired or received a harsher punishment.

One of the juiciest pieces to the entire mess surrounding Columbus is the media’s opinion compared to Meyer himself.  It should also be noted that the media is frustrated with Meyer for lying about the incident at Big Ten Media Days. Reports indicated that Meyer tried to refuse a suspension, which seemed like the lightest of punishments to begin with.  However, much of the media believes he should just be happy to keep his job after one of the wildest investigations this sport has seen.
