Georgia Names 3 Captains For Saturday’s Austin Peay Game

Three upperclassmen have been honored as captains for the Dawgs’ 2018 season opener against Austin Peay on September 1.

Senior inside linebacker Juwan Taylor, senior wide receiver Ahkil Crumpton and junior running back Elijah Holyfield will lead the Bulldogs into Sanford Stadium on Saturday.

Taylor, from Hollywood, Florida, played in all 15 games last season and had a  start against Vanderbilt. He will help fill the void left by All-American Roquan Smith.

Crumpton arrived at Georgia as from LA Junior College junior college shortly before 2017 fall camp began. The Philadelphia native had five catches for 96 yards on the year, including a touchdown.

Holyfield, a Woodward Academy (Atlanta’s) product, had a strong 2018 camp, and is expected to be big contributor to the rush offense this season. He rushed for 293 yards and two touchdowns on 50 carries in the Dawgs’ SEC championship season.

The Bulldogs host Austin Peay on Saturday, at 3:30 p.m. ET, and it can be seen on ESPN.
