No. 14 South Carolina (6-1) would lose to No. 4 Georgia (7-0) in a classic matchup. The final score was 13-10.

The Rogers-led Gamecocks were probably the best South Carolina team in 20 years, and for Georgia to continue its national title run the Dawgs would need to come out on top.

It was Georgia’s first ranked match of the year, and Dooley’s Dawgs were ready.

Walker entered the game averaging 6.2 yards per carry, with a total of 877 rushing yards. Rogers had 1,089 yards at 6.4 yards per carry.

South Carolina had only one loss, to No. 4 USC. The next week, though, they got a win at No. 17 Michigan.

Game stats:

Rogers: 35 carries, 168 yards

Walker: 43 carries, 219 yards, including the iconic 76 yard touchdown run shown below.

How can you not love seeing those insane amount of carries?

Walker had a lot of great runs at Georgia, including his run over Tennessee’s Bill Bates, but this one, in my opinion, was his greatest.
