Former South Carolina TE Revives Trash Talk; Guarantees Win Over Georgia

It’s trash talk season, and this time, it’s coming from a former player.

Over the summer, former South Carolina tight end Tori Gurley joined The Paul Finebaum Show and guaranteed that the Gamecocks would pick up the week-two victory over Georgia.

Now, Gurley, who is currently a free agent after most recently being a member of the Ottawa Redblacks of the CFL, is picking things back up.

The Birmingham native revived those comments on Monday, tweeting:

“I said it back in July on the Finebaum show!!! Gamecocks over the Bulldogs!!! #Guarantee #YouCanCashThisCheckOnSundayOrAnyHoliday”

So far, no current Gamecocks have made a splash by calling out Georgia.

Last year, however, South Carolina defensive back Chris Lammons challenged UGA quarterback Jake Fromm by saying “They (Georgia) can’t pass.”

When asked which phase of Georgia’s offense was more of a concern, the run or the pass, Lammons quickly answered with a smirk: “The run. They can’t pass.”

Nothing like college football in the South. Georgia feeds on trash talk.
