College Football AP Poll Released - Top 25 Matchup This Weekend In Columbia

It will be a top 25 matchup this weekend in Columbia, South Carolina.

On the heels of Georgia’s week one blowout win over Austin Peay, the Dawgs remain at number three in the week two AP Top 25 rankings.

Georgia’s opponent this weekend, South Carolina, made its way into the rankings, checking in at number 24, meaning when the Dawgs and the Gamecocks meet on CBS, it will be a top 25 battle.

The 5 day start of the season, which began Thursday night and ran all the way to Monday, delayed the release of the AP rankings until Tuesday.

It is important to remember that these rankings mean essentially nothing, as the College Football Playoff Rankings come out later in the season and will dictate who has a shot at the national title. But in the meantime, there’s no denying rankings are fun, so we will continue to express interest.

Alabama kept its slot at number one after a dismantling of Louisville. Clemson stayed at number two after beating Furman 48-7.
