Watch: Georgia LB D’Andre Walker Discusses Savage Spikes, Playing Without Roquan, Two QB’s

Following UGA’s huge win on Saturday against Austin Peay, junior LB D’Andre Walker spoke to Emily Gagnon of CBS46 Atlanta for a short time.

Walker, out of Langston Hughes High School in Fairburn, GA, discussed a few different things about the game, including:

  • Being the first on the team to don the savage spikes in the new season, as he recovered a Jeremiah Oatsvall (Austin Peay QB) fumble late in the first quarter.
  • How he misses playing with Roquan Smith
  • When asked about how Georgia’s win over Austin Peay will get momentum going as they prepare for SC, Walker replied: “Momentum builds confidence.”
  • When asked about playing with two different QBs, Walker said “One can run, one can pass. It’s pretty neat.”
  • Walker said that the team needs to “get better on special teams” and “meet more, meet extra.”

In 2017, Walker played in all 15 games and had 40 total tackles. He also ranked 2nd on the team in tackles for loss (13.5) and sacks (5.5). Walker and the Bulldogs will travel to Columbia, SC this upcoming Saturday to face the 1-0 Gamecocks. Kickoff is at 3:30 PM ET.
