Georgia High School QB Talks Culture At UGA, USC: Gives Game Prediction

Woodward Academy quarterback Mike Wright Jr. is currently on an unofficial visit to Vanderbilt, but that didn’t stop him from previewing another prominent SEC contest on Saturday.  Wright, a 3-star out of Atlanta, Georgia discussed his observations on the different cultures in Athens and Columbia, as well as a prediction for Saturday’s contest between Georgia and South Carolina.

“In Athens, the 7on7 tournament was really exciting. There was some great competition, with some really good teams. At Georgia, the entire coaching staff was out there the whole time which was pretty cool.”

Wright mentioned the dedication to recruiting in the Classic City and how serious Coach Kirby Smart’s staff takes these opportunities to see potential prospects.

“South Carolina was really cool,” said Wright.

“We went on a full campus tour. We ended up winning the competition and afterward, Coach Will Muschamp talked to our whole team” the junior quarterback noted.

When asked if each program had a different vibe going on, the Woodward Academy student had an intriguing answer.  “Both atmospheres were crazy. They had fans coming up to me asking me how I was doing which was ridiculous.”

Changing the perspective from Wright’s personal experiences, he told us what it was like to experience both programs with his War Eagle teammates.

“As a team, we loved both campuses and tournaments. We definitely want to go back next year.”

For today’s clash between two SEC rivals, Wright cannot seem to pick a winner, as he thinks the game is a toss-up, too close to call.

“I think it is going to be a shootout. I don’t know who wins but Woodward’s own Elijah Holyfield makes the Heisman watch-list after today. Big game from him.”
