Kirby Smart Explains Lack Of Carries For D'Andre Swift

Georgia star running back D’Andre Swift started the game with 4 straight carries, tallying 12 yards.

But after that first drive Swift was done for the day, seen on the sideline with his helmet in hand and a towel around his neck.

Georgia fans feared an injury for Swift, as it is unusual to see a star player only take 4 carries on the first drive and then be sidelined for the rest of the game.

You can let out a sigh of relief now…

Fear not, UGA fans. Our star back is ok, according to Kirby Smart.

Smart said following the game that he just wanted to get other running backs involved more in the offense after Georgia jumped out to an early lead.

While Swift was on the sideline, Georgia back-up ball carrier Elijah Holyfield enjoyed a stellar day. Holyfield carried 8 times and became UGA’s first 100 yard rusher of the season.
