Unfiltered 2.5 Week Georgia Football Recap

Howdy, folks.

You may have noticed my lack of writing over the past few weeks, but you probably didn’t. I suppose it’s partly my fault, but I’m gonna place most of the blame on my professors (who I respect and adore if they happen to be reading this) for scheduling FOUR exams over the course of a single week.

In the industry, that’s what some might call “a dick move.”

Since my last post, quite a bit has transpired in the world of Georgia football.

In week one, the boys handled business against Austin Peay, a team so insignificant that most people have already forgotten how to pronounce their name. I would get into the specifics of the game, but it was over two weeks ago and we won by a thousand so what’s the point.

Following that big surprise, Kirby and Co. essentially locked up the SEC East in week two with a monster win over USCjr. in Columbia, SC.

My favorite part about the SC game, aside from (Game)Cock-slapping the piss out of them, was that I actually had a ticket to the game but opted to stay in Athens at the last minute. Yes, you read that right.

My favorite part of South Carolina weekend was the fact that I paid real American dollars for a ticket, waited in line for roughly 3 hours at Stegeman to pick it up, booked a hotel room weeks in advance, and then decided 12 hours beforehand to stay home.

Why, you ask? Well, it may or may not have everything to do with the fact that I was told by everyone I know that Columbia, South Carolina is pretty much the Aleppo of American college towns.

Some might call that last part a tad bit excessive, but I stand by it. That town is hotter than Hell, and for the sake of time let’s just say its similarities with the underworld don’t stop there.

But yeah, after all the time, money, and effort I put into planning on going to the game in Columbia, I can’t help but find it hilarious that I didn’t go. The next time I have the misfortune of meeting a Cocks fan (lol), it’s definitely gonna come up.

Fast forward to this past weekend and the boys did it again. Our Bulldogs manhandled MTSU to the tune of 49-7 and for the third week in a row, it was pretty tough to find anything wrong with the Dawgs’ playing. Despite that, I haven’t a doubt in my mind Kirby will find something to improve.

Now we find ourselves here, going into our second SEC matchup of the year against Mizzou, having outscored our opponents thus far 125-24. Last I saw we opened up as 15.5 point favorites, which honestly seems a little low if you’re asking me. Regardless, I have full faith that Coach Smart and the Dawgs will make us all proud yet again.

In Kirby we trust. Go Damn Dawgs.
