Georgia Playmaker Added To ESPN Heisman Watch

With week 3 of the college football season in the books, ESPN has released its updated Heisman Watch rankings.

The rankings are voted on by a panel of 10 ESPN college football writers. Eleven players appeared on at least one of the 10 ballots.

Mecole Hardman, the Georgia Bulldogs’ electric flanker and punt returner, debuts at No. 9 on the list. The Elbert County junior received a single fifth-place vote. He had four catches for 21 yards with one touchdown and also returned a punt for 70 yards and a touchdown in the Bulldogs’ 49-7 win over Middle Tennessee on Saturday.

Hardman was ranked as the nation’s No. 12 overall prospect and No. 1 prep athlete in the class of 2016. For the season, Hardman leads UGA in receptions (12), receiving yards (187) and in receiving touchdowns with three. He has 30 rushing yards and 3 punt returns for 97 yards and a touchdown.

Oklahoma junior quarterback Kyler Murray leads the list, closely followed by Alabama sophomore quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

In a clash of undefeated SEC East rivals, Hardman and the Bulldogs visit Missouri on Saturday. Kickoff is 12:00 p.m. ET and ESPN has the television call with IMG Network handling the radio broadcast.
