Georgia Great Justin Houston Back In Form For Undefeated Kansas City Chiefs

University of Georgia great Justin Houston was one of the most feared pass rushers in the NFL throughout most of his career with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Houston missed significant portions of the 2015 and 2016 seasons with a torn ACL and his numbers weren’t up to his usual All-Pro standards. However, his performance against San Francisco on Sunday suggested he has returned to form.

The eight-year veteran edge defender put together a vintage performance in the Chiefs’ convincing win over the 49ers. He recorded six total pressures (four hurries, two sacks) across 27 pass-rushing snaps, two forced fumbles and an additional two defensive stops in the contest, and he looked good and healthy doing so.

Houston took first-round rookie offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey to school in run defense and passing downs, beating him multiple times. The analytical gurus at Pro Football Focus gave Houston a 91.2 overall grade and 92.6 pass-rush grade against San Francisco, both of which being his best marks since Week 15 of the 2017 season.

The 3-0 Chiefs are one of only three NFL teams to remain undefeated and the play of Justin Houston is a big reason Kansas City’s prospects are on the rise.
