What The Point Spread Would Be If Georgia And Alabama Played Today

With both Georgia (#2) and Alabama (#1) sitting pretty at 5-0, the two powerhouse programs look destined to meet in the SEC Championship on December 1st.

The last time the border-rivals met was January 8, 2018, in the national championship. Obviously, Georgia lost in heartbreaking fashion, but it gave hope for a bright future.

Even if the conference foes did meet in the SEC title game, there’s still a decent possibility they could meet once again in the Playoff, whether it be the semifinal or the national championship, assuming it’s a close matchup the first time around.

Alabama entered last year’s game as a 3.5 point favorite over UGA, but what would the spread be if they were to meet again today?

According to Gold Nugget Las Vegas, right now Alabama is at least a 10 point favorite over every team in the nation.

Currently, according to Vegas, the team with the best shot of dethroning Bama is Ohio State. If the Tide and the Buckeyes were to meet today, Saban’s squad would be favored by 10 points.

The team with the second highest chance of beating them is Georgia. The point spread for that game would be 11 points, which, oddly enough, likely excites Kirby Smart and his staff.

If the Dawgs needed anymore motivation to avenge their loss to Bama (they don’t), this should give it to them.
