Stats And Observations From Georgia Football's First Half vs Tennessee

It has not looked terribly pretty on offense, but Georgia entered the locker room at halftime with a 17-0 lead over rival Tennessee.

Jake Fromm got off to a sluggish first half, holding the ball a bit too long, resulting in two fumbles.

Lucky for Georgia, one of those fumbles turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as tight end Isaac Nauta scooped the ball and took it to the house for a 30 yard touchdown.

The coaches went with Justin Fields for a drive late in the second half, but after moving Georgia down the field, Fromm was put back in on an unsuccessful 3rd and 1.

Georgia would convert on 4th down and go on to score off a short touchdown run by D’Andre Swift.

Penalties, bad decisions and drops have plagued the Georgia offense so far, however, UGA will have another chance to extend its lead as the Dawgs return the opening kick of the second half.

The defense, on the other hand, has looked stout. Vols quarterback Jarrett Guarantano is 6/10 for just 38 yards. Also, Tennessee has just 30 rushing yards through the first half.

Defensive back JR Reed has had a nice game thus far, making multiple open field tackles, including one for a loss.
