2019 5-Star Wide Receiver Decommits From Georgia

2019 5-star wide receiver Jadon Haselwood (Cedar Grove HS, Ellenwood, Ga.) has decommitted from the University of Georgia, according to a tweet he posted on Tuesday night.

Haselwood, who ranks as the nation’s third overall player and No. 1 wide receiver, tweeted that he will be reopening his recruitment.

This is a huge blow for Georgia, as Haselwood was one of the highest ranked players in Kirby Smart’s 2019 recruiting class.

Haselwood committed to Georgia in March of 2017, but has always left the door open for other schools. He recently visited Miami, took a trip to Auburn over the summer, and traveled to South Carolina, Oklahoma and Tennessee last Spring.

Haselwood was in attendance at Georgia’s game on Saturday against Tennessee and, according to Dean Legge of DawgPost, was seen in the second row buddying up with Alabama defensive back commit Javier Morton of Stephenson High School in Stone Mountain, Ga.

Prior to Haselwood’s announcement, Georgia possessed the nation’s top ranked class in the country. UGA still maintains commitments from the nation’s No. 2 overall player, defensive end Noland Smith; the nation’s 22nd overall player, defensive tackle Travon Walker; No. 25, running back John Emery; and the nation’s No. 31 overall player and 6th ranked wide receiver Dominick Blaylock.
