Week 6 SEC Picks And Analysis For Every Team

With Georgia sitting at No. 2 in the country and boasting a 5-0 record, the Dawgs are looking to advance to 6-0 with a win over Vanderbilt on Saturday.

That’s just one of the games for this week in the SEC, though. There’s some good ones taking place in week 6 around the league, with LSU vs Florida, Kentucky vs Texas A&M, Auburn vs Mississippi State and Missouri vs South Carolina. Get ready for another great Saturday of college football.

Our latest edition of the weekly SEC picks is in, and this week we are playing it safe.

Here we go..

Alabama @ Arkansas

We’ll admit it, we had the Razorbacks beating Colorado State and North Texas.  Could Arkansas knock off Tua Tagovailoa and the top-ranked Tide?  Well, the chances of that actually happening seem to be on line with Tennessee’s SEC East hopes.

So in other words, no!   However, the Hogs’ season makes no sense on paper and if they do end up beating Saban’s squad, you heard the small possibility here first.

Prediction: Alabama 52, Arkansas 10

Missouri @ South Carolina

The battle for third place in the SEC East runs through Columbia this season.  Both of them that is.  The offseason hype proved too big for Will Muschamp’s South Carolina squad and we thought the Bulldogs struggled a lot more with Missouri.  Expect the Tigers to get a much-needed win at Williams-Brice Saturday afternoon.

Prediction: Missouri 37, South Carolina 24

LSU @ Florida

We definitely regret picking Miami to beat LSU in week 1, but have been all in on the ‘bayou Bengals’ ever since.  The purple and gold take care of business in ‘the swamp’ to set up a marquee matchup with Georgia next week.  However, Florida has proved us wrong in three consecutive weeks, so we don’t expect them to lay down lightly.

Prediction: LSU 35, Florida 27

UL Monroe @ Ole Miss

How many cupcakes have the Rebels played?  It really seems like a lot, doesn’t it?  Jordan Ta’amu and the Rebels will get back on track after another SEC loss this week, but can they get any decent division wins?  Arkansas should provide Ole Miss with a great chance.

Prediction: Ole Miss 42, UL Monroe 17

Kentucky @ Texas A&M

We were a little too high on the Aggies after a pylon cam proved costly, but not anymore.  Our further analysis seems to be that Clemson is more mediocre than Texas A&M is good.

Benny Snell and the Wildcats, coming off a 5-0 start and a pair of SEC wins, look poised to make a run at the East with Georgia looming in November.  We like the Cats to get it done in Aggieland, though a bit fazed by the crowd early.

Prediction: Kentucky 35, Texas A&M 24

Vanderbilt @ Georgia

The Commodores head south to the ‘Peach State’ for another Georgia homecoming game on Saturday.  Derek Mason’s bunch is 3-2 coming into Athens, after a hard-fought loss to Notre Dame and a slip up against South Carolina.

Georgia did not look very promising last weekend, but they still won by 26 points over a hopeless Tennessee team.  Look for the Dawgs to put away the ‘Dores pretty early in this one, taking note of the last meeting the two teams had inside Sanford Stadium.

Prediction: Georgia 42, Vanderbilt 13

Auburn @ Mississippi State

Nick Fitzgerald and the Bulldogs have cost us in back to back weeks now and we cannot risk rolling with them again.  Gus Malzahn creates some sort of Auburn magic to lead the Tigers to victory after a horrendous game agaist Southern Miss last Saturday.

Jarred Stidham and company are a good team, though not one of the elite teams in the SEC, nor their own division anymore.

Prediction:  Auburn 24, Mississippi State 13

That’s it for week 6, everybody!  Not too many shockers for us, but we cannot wait for another strong slate of games next time.
