Baker Mayfield Compares Feeling Of Browns Loss To Rose Bowl Game Against Nick Chubb

Baker Mayfield was not happy with the way he played on Sunday in a 38-14 blowout loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

The rookie quarterback for the Cleveland Browns had 2 interceptions on the day, while only completing 22 of his 46 passing attempts.

When asked about the loss, Mayfield referenced a familiar game for his feeling of agony. The Oklahoma vs. Georgia Rose Bowl Game was the first to come to mind for the Heisman Trophy winner.

“Against Nick Chubb,” said Mayfield.

Mayfield’s NFL career is off to a solid start, putting up some big numbers the past few weeks. Chubb on the other hand, who was taken with the 35th overall pick, has proved he can handle himself in the pros. But for reasons unknown to us, the Browns coaching staff has limited Chubb’s playing time to no more than 3 carries in a game this season. In week 4, Chubb took his 3 carries for 105 yards and 2 touchdowns. On Sunday, the Georgia legend played well, averaging 8.3 yards per attempt, tallying 25 yards on…wait for it…3 carries.

Memo to the Browns: Chubb is a monster. Play him.
