Large Group Of UCF Fans Busing To Jacksonville For College Gameday Cancel Trip After Receiving Numerous Threats

UCF Knights Watch, which appears to be a community of people supporting the University of Central Florida football team, had raised enough money to transport two buses of UCF fans to Jacksonville for Saturday’s episode of ESPN’s College Gameday.

Their purpose of making the two hour drive from Orlando to Jacksonville was to have as many UCF fans as possible appear on Gameday, which will be present for the Georgia vs Florida game, and represent the brand.

However, according to the community’s Twitter account, the trip has been cancelled as a result of threats from fans of both Georgia and Florida.

“A select few of the fans from the teams represented in Jacksonville have openly and credibly threatened to meet us, pepper spray us, throw glass beer bottles, steal flags, steal signs and overall physically attack us on the site,” UCF Knights Watch tweeted in a statement.

The group mentioned in their statement that Jacksonville authorities had informed them that there is indeed risk associated with being in the area during the early morning hours and as a result of the massive size of the audience that will be there.
