SEC Week Nine Predictions And Analysis For Every Team

With Georgia on its bye last week, we decided to get a little bold on our predictions. However, nothing seemed to fall in our favor. Let’s put week eight behind us and take a look at week nine of the college football season.

Vanderbilt @ Arkansas:

The Commodores gave Florida and Kentucky all they could handle in the last two games but failed to come away with a victory. I expect Derek Mason’s squad to get the job done in Fayetteville on Saturday.

Prediction: Vanderbilt 30, Arkansas 23

Georgia vs. Florida:

The SEC East seemed to be a lock for the Bulldogs, until it wasn’t. Now, Georgia faces two straight elimination games against Florida and Kentucky, if victorious Saturday. Coming off a bye week after a loss to LSU, we have to put our faith in Kirby Smart’s team. We expect the Dawgs to rebound against the Gators in Jacksonville but a loss dashes any dream of returning to Atlanta and the playoff.

With that being said, I think it will be a strong showing from the Bulldogs and will be too much for the up and coming Gators to contain. This game should be a low-scoring battle.

Prediction: Georgia 27, Florida 17

Kentucky @ Missouri:

The Wildcats have a unique opportunity to clinch the SEC East against Georgia next weekend. But first they have to beat Missouri on Saturday. The Tigers can ruin Kentucky’s season this weekend and kill hopes of a conference title berth with a win, but it’s hard to see Kentucky throwing away a golden chance at Atlanta by losing to Mizzou.

Prediction: Kentucky 27, Missouri 21

Texas A&M @ Mississippi State

The Aggies of Texas A&M have had a solid season in Jimbo Fisher’s first year, with their only two losses coming to Clemson and Alabama. Fisher’s squad is a very good football team, just not a great one. However, they should be able to handle Mississippi State.

Prediction: Texas A&M 28, Mississippi State 17

Tennessee @ South Carolina

After talking about Mississippi State’s disappointing season, we cannot help but think of the Gamecocks. Will Muschamp’s South Carolina team had heavy expectations for 2018, only to find it re-scheduling a game with Marshall to become bowl eligible. The underdog often finds a way to win this particular game and we expect Tennessee to be celebrating on Saturday night.

Prediction: Tennessee 34, South Carolina 24
