How UGA's Schedule Stacks Up According To The CFP Committee

The College Football Playoff Committee has released its first rankings of the year, with Georgia coming in at No. 6.

With the committee putting so much emphasis on strength of record, we took a look into what the committee must think of Georgia’s biggest opponents.

LSU, who manhandled Georgia three weeks ago, is very high in the group’s eyes, ranked third.  The Tigers’ loss to Florida is being forgiven for having three wins in the Top 10.

Florida fell to No. 11 after losing to Georgia, even with two losses. The Gators appear to impress the committee for their five-game win streak before Saturday. Florida being ranked so high looks good for Georgia, which just beat the Gators by 19 points.

Looking ahead to this weekend, Kentucky’s last minute win over Missouri was not the prettiest but it did not matter in the long run. Survive and advance seemed to be the bigger objective for the Cats, coming in at No. 9.

The Bulldogs only have one one ranked win, over Florida.  However, things can get a lot more interesting after this Saturday. If Georgia wins, the Dawgs would have two very quality wins.

Georgia has its focus on winning the East before looking ahead to the playoff.
